Jaguar XJ
For a long time, worrying about Jaguar was the only sensible thing to do. While it was never exactly clear if the marque had (ever) achieved profitability, we enthusiasts were only too happy to give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, the English automaker serially gifted us with watershed designs. Sublime mechanical creatures like the E- and D-Type sports cars, as well as the curvacious Mark II and original XJ. How could we not be totally and utterly smitten? Yet somehow, the once proud automaker eventually found itself adrift in mediocrity, turning out maligned and slow-selling products with an unpleasant odor of unreliability as the money began to run dry. When the then Ford-owned brand launched headlong into its “democratization of luxury” strategy that resulted in the lamentable 2001 X-Type and serious talk of an SUV, well, we couldn’t help but grow gravely concerned. Jaguar XJ
The Jaguar Supersport (SS) was first introduced for the 2010 model as a replacement to the outgoing Jaguar XJR. The XJ was totally redesigned for 2010, a much needed update for the aging Jaguar model. This Jaguar model is different than the previous generation in just about every way possible. Yet, at the same time the ‘old-world’ traditional Jaguar heritage is subtly present. (more…)

Jaguar XJ
We’re doing about 80 mph on a narrow, rain-slicked road, threading an undulating path across fresh-plowed fields west of Paris. The asphalt runs straight, but it’s billowing toward a rise with a camber that will tilt us toward a steepish slope that runs off to the right. So we gently brake, dropping to 65 mph as the 2011 Jaguar XJ 5.0L V8 crests this gentle hillock, which it absorbs with nonchalant aplomb. (more…)

German tuning company 9ff is well known for their work on different Porsche models. Their most powerful project is the 9ff GT9, that is based on the 911 GT3. GT9 has an amazing top speed of 409 km/h (253 mph), which makes it one of the fastest cars in the world. All this thanks to the modified 4.2-liter flat six that generates 987 hp / 726 kW at 7,850 rpm. (more…)

9FF GT9R
The 9ff GT9-R tuning of the Porsche 911 increases power to a whopping 1120 hp! This means we get acceleration to 100 km/hr in just 2.9 seconds, 300 km/hr is reached in 15.8, and the top speed hits 414 km/hr. 9ff has achieved this by taking the six cylinder boxer biturbo to four litres. (more…)

HSV W427
Melbourne, Australia — “It’s not a super car,” said the bloke standing next to me at the 2008 Melbourne Motor Show.
